Hi! My name is Kimberly Ramos. I am currently a senior in the BSN program at Felician College in Lodi, New Jersey. I am serving my second term as Community Health director for NJNS. Last term I worked on raising student nurse awareness about monthly health observances and focused on the general theme “Prevention”. This campaign was primarily conducted through monthly updates including: general health information, disease processes, non-profit organization links, and preventive measures. The goal was to make student nurses more aware and knowledgeable for themselves in addition to educating family, friends, and patients on ways to lead a healthier life. This year I plan to continue to raise awareness and prevention advocacy, while at the same time expanding with a new theme “Globalization”. This theme will incorporate: environmental protection, community involvement, and public outreach motivating student nurses to think and act in a truly holistic approach to healthcare. The goal of this year is to not only have a more knowledgeable health conscience student nurse, but also one that takes action in his/her community and environment. For any additional information, questions, suggestions, etc. please contact me at communityhealth@njnsinc.org.
It is my pleasure to serve as the New Jersey League for Nurses Consultant. I have been a nurse for over thirty years and for the past six I have been extremely fortunate to be employed as a nursing instructor at Charles E.Gregory School of Nursing. It is definitely my favorite job ever! I love watching students learn, grow, and mature into experienced, professional nurses.
My background is mainly medical surgical nursing, and I have worked as a staff nurse, nurse manager, and a nurse consultant. I am also a certified Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurse for over 15 years as well as a Geriatric Nurse Practitioner. I hope that you will see the value of the NJNS and participate this year. The Board is planning an exciting COSP and Convention- I look forward to meeting many of you! Tracey Siegel
