NJNS ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIP
WHO IS ELIGIBLE?
National Student Nurses' Association (NSNA) member enrolled in a New Jersey state-approved nursing program
Involvement in student nursing organizations and/or community health activities;
Ability to document academic achievement;
WHAT CRITERIA ARE USED FOR SELECTION?
The scholarships are based on academic achievement and involvement in nursing student organizations and community activities related to health care.
WHEN WILL THE SCHOLARSHIPS BE AWARDED?
Scholarships are awarded at the opening ceremony at the Annual NJNS Convention.
This year, opening ceremony will be on February 27, 2020.
Scholarship recipients will receive an email confirmation.
WHO CHOOSES THE RECIPIENTS?
A prescribed committee of NJNS board members and consultant will select recipients.
DEADLINE FOR COMPLETED APPLICATIONS?
Applications must be postmarked, on or before midnight of January 24, 2020.
WHAT DOCUMENTS ARE REQUIRED WITH THE APPLICATION?
A completed application includes a personal essay, resume, proof of NSNA membership, official transcript, financial aid certification form, and two recommendations.

New Jersey Nursing Students, Inc. (NJNS) members have the opportunity to recognize an individual who has had an impact on their nursing education and/or career choice. This individual may be a dean, director, faculty, mentor, or relative who demonstrates support to nursing students.
NJNS has created this award to honor individuals who demonstrate educating and/or supporting a student’s professional development.
A total of three awards will be presented based on the essays submitted. The decisions of the committee will be final. The award will be given at our annual Deans/Directors/Faculty Luncheon on Thursday, February 27, 2020. The recipient must be present at the luncheon.
The nominee must have made a substantial impact on the student during nursing school.
A completed application and essay describing the activities involved with the student must be submitted by February 3, 2020.
