My journey as a registered nurse began fifteen years ago. I completed my Associate Degree in Nursing from Mercer County Community College. I was fortunate to be provided an opportunity as a novice nurse  with Princeton House Behavioral Health while pursuing my Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN).  After working for Princeton House Behavioral Health for two years and enjoying Mental Health Nursing I decided to pursue my Masters’s of Science in Nursing (MSN), specialty Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Having this degree has afforded me the opportunity to also teach for Stockton University. I am currently employed as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse practitioner with Penn Princeton Behavioral Health and Rowan University.

Zamara Amankwah

MSHA, CPT

Zamara Amankwah is a healthcare professional based out of New York. After graduating from Temple University with her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science, she started her career as a health fitness professional. In this role she obtained additional certifications as a Personal Trainer, Health Coach and Group Exercise instructor. Over the past 4 years she has led wellness focused seminars and workshops on topics of stress management, mindfulness and chronic disease prevention and the importance of fitness and proper nutrition.

In 2019 she began working for Weill Cornell Medicine and obtained her Master of Science in Health Administration from Saint Joseph’s University. In the time since, she has actively worked with the New York Regional Chapter of the National Association of Health Service Executives as a part of their health equity committee.

In June of this year, she along with her long time friend and business partner formed SweatChekk, LLC: a social media movement,  created by accident, that has now turned into a community of people promoting healthier lifestyles through accountability.

She is a strong believer that we as healthcare workers cannot take care of others if we are not also taking care of ourselves. This motto, along with her passion for health education, and health equity are her guiding light as she works to merge health and wellness for the very people on the front lines providing it.
